Financial Notice & Good Faith Estimate

Last updated: August 2026

Your Right to a Good Faith Estimate

Under the federal No Surprises Act, people who are uninsured or who choose not to use insurance for a service have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of the expected charges for scheduled services or upon request.

  • You have the right to a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency services, including evaluation and related services.
  • ClearStep will provide a Good Faith Estimate in writing before your scheduled service, or upon request. Ask for one any time.
  • The estimate reflects the anticipated scope of services. If the clinical question or required testing changes, the final cost may differ, and we will discuss any material change with you.
The Good Faith Estimate is not a bill. It is an estimate of expected charges. If you receive a final bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you may be eligible to dispute the bill through the federal patient-provider dispute resolution process.

Self-Pay and Out-of-Network Services

For services handled as self-pay or out-of-network, payment is due according to the payment schedule explained before the evaluation begins. Upon completion and payment, ClearStep can provide a superbill you may submit to your insurer for possible out-of-network reimbursement. A superbill does not guarantee reimbursement, which depends entirely on your health plan.
